Application

BETON B20 is designed for concreting works, concrete floor underlays, floors from 25 mm to 100 mm thick, as well as filling fence posts, and making foundations. Can be used inside and outside buildings.

Properties

B20 concrete is a ready-made dry C16 / 20 concrete mix based on high-quality cement and specially selected aggregates and modifying agents. It is characterized by good plasticity, workability and adhesion to various types of building materials, which makes it a very versatile product. Easy to use, after setting, freezing and waterproof. Compressive strength ≥ 20 Mpa

Substrate preparation

The substrate should be matured, dry, stable, even and sound, i.e. strong enough, cleaned of layers that may weaken adhesion (dust, dirt, lime, oil, grease, wax, residual oil and emulsion paint). If it is necessary to make a layer on solid substrates with a load capacity difficult to determine (e.g. dusty, difficult to clean), it is recommended to perform an adhesion test consisting in applying a control layer and checking the connection after a minimum of 48 hours. Remove loose items. Highly absorbable substrates should be wetted with water when there is a strong insolation. When making undrelays, the rules for using expansion joints should be followed. Start preparing the substrate by cleaning it and making expansion joints separating it from walls and other elements using expansion tape or polystyrene strips. Any expansion joints present in the substrate should be moved so that the expansion joints in the undercoating overlap. Then spread the building foil evenly over the entire surface with a thickness of min. 0.2 mm with folding above the expected level of the undercoat. For foil joints, use a min. 10-15 cm overlap and stick it on the joints with adhesive tape or weld to get tight insulation. If necessary or required, reinforcement should be applied and laid.

Mortar preparation

Preparation involves pouring dry mortar into a container with the right amount of water (2-4 liters per 25 kg). Then mix the mass manually or mechanically using a low-speed drill with a mixer or concrete mixer until a homogeneous mass without lumps is obtained. Leave for about 5-10 minutes and mix again. If necessary, add a small amount of water and mix again to obtain a proper consistency. The mass prepared in this way should be used within 30-60 minutes depending on weather conditions. It is unacceptable to modify the mortar by adding other components of construction chemicals, e.g. sand, cement, and other additives, as this may cause loss of concrete properties. Do not mix hardened mortar with water or fresh material.

Application method

All concrete works should be carried out in accordance with applicable standards. Place the prepared mortar (usually) between the directional strips, beat, compact and level. Remove excess mortar with a patch along the guides and after initial setting rub the surface by hand with a trowel or mechanically with a trowel. To avoid cracks on the poured floor screed, which can be caused by heavy loads, significant temperature fluctuations or pouring the screed on the ceilings of prefabricated elements, use reinforcement. Elements shuttered disassemble after at least 48-72 hours. When the concrete dries indoors, good ventilation must be provided. When working outside, protect the applied layer from direct sunlight (drying too quickly can lead to cracking), as well as protect the surface from direct rain. Do not accelerate drying by heating. The air and substrate temperature during works as well as in the process of setting and drying must be positive (above + 5 ° C, but not higher than 25 ° C). In addition to the recommendations provided, work should be carried out in accordance with building practice and health and safety rules. The manufacturer guarantees the quality of the product, but has no effect on the conditions and the way it is used. In case of doubt, carry out adhesion tests or contact the manufacturer. Fresh dirt after mortar should be washed with clean water, while hardened should be removed mechanically. Work in temperatures between + 5 ° C and + 25 ° C. For a period of 7 days after the completion of works, the air temperature should not be below +5 ° C, and for the next 21 days should not fall below 0 ° C.

Expenditure

On average, a layer thickness of 10 mm is used from 20 kg / 1 m². The proportion of the mixture with water is about 2-4 liters of water per 25 kg of dry mix.

Tools

Drill with a mixer, trowel, concrete mixer, container, measuring vessel for water. Tools should be cleaned with clean water directly after use.

Storage and transport

The products must be absolutely stored in undamaged packaging and dry rooms on pallets. Protect from moisture, getting wet during storage and transport. The storage period of the product in conditions complying with the recommendations given is up to 12 months from the date of production placed on the packaging in digital print. The date of production, which is placed on the packaging, is also the date of manufacture of the product. Any changes visible in the product or packaging structure without special tests, in particular discoloration or smudging of the packaging graphics, infringements of the packaging continuity, biological changes in the product structure, recognizable in particular as a consequence of moisture, may indicate poor storage or transport conditions and do not guarantee compliance declared performance characteristics of products as specified.

Packaging

25 kg paper bags.

Precautions

The product contains cement which, when mixed with water, gives an alkaline reaction. Take measures to prevent dusting or splashing with the mortar. Do not inhale, protect eyes and skin. In case of contamination: rinse eyes immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice, wash skin with soap and water. Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show the container or label.

Temperature of performed work

Air temperature from + 5 ° C to +25 ° C. Substrate temperature from + 5 ° C to +25 ° C. Work in temperature between +5 ° C and +25 ° C. For a period of 7 days after the completion of works, the air temperature should not be below +5 ° C, and for the next 21 should not fall below 0 ° C.
