Application

Styro Lux Graphite adhesive mortar is used for gluing insulation boards, made of graphite and white polystyrene, as well as making a reinforcing layer in the building insulation system, for various types of decorative plasters. The mortar is suitable for filling small cavities of the stabilized substrate, as well as for leveling the surface. Can be used inside and outside buildings.

Properties

Styro Lux Graphite adhesive mortar is a dry mineral mortar based on cement and modifying additives. Increased adhesion and flexibility as well as specially selected aggregate makes it particularly useful in the building insulation system.

Substrate preparation

The foundation on which the universal adhesive mortar is used can be concrete of all classes, aerated concrete, raw brick wall or light concrete blocks and old stable plaster. The substrate should be dry, stable, even, carrying, i.e. strong enough, cleaned of layers that can weaken mortar adhesion (dust, dirt, oils, fats, wax, oil and emulsion paint residues). Larger bumps and cavities should be filled with putty. Damaged and poorly adhering plasters should be removed. Dusty and excessively absorbent substrates should be primed with UNI-ASTEX primer.

Mortar preparation

The mortar is prepared by pouring it into water and mixing it manually or mechanically until the right consistency is obtained. Mixing proportions: 25 kg of mortar (1 bag) for approx. 5.5 to 6 L of water. The adhesive mortar is ready to work after 10 minutes and after mixing again, and retains its properties for approx. 4 hours. Higher temperatures shorten, while lower temperatures increase mortar readiness time.

Gluing foamed boards and arranging the reinforcing mesh

Apply the adhesive mortar to the inside of the board using a trowel, laying a roller along the perimeter that will form the frame and from 3 to 8 patches on the remaining surface (depending on the size of the board). The amount of adhesive mortar on the board after pressing against the wall should be 60% - 80% of the adhesive surface. After 3 days of gluing the foamed polystyrene boards (after the adhesive mortar has set), you can proceed with the fixing of plastic expansion dowels. The number of pins is min. 4 pcs / m². The surface of foamed polystyrene boards should be even, clean, stable and dust-free after sanding before making the reinforcing layer of mesh. Before laying the reinforcing mesh, apply adhesive mortar with a notched trowel. Then arrange the reinforcing mesh in vertical stripes, keeping the overlap at least 10 cm, then smooth the surface. The thickness of the reinforcement layers must be at least 3 mm. The mesh should be embedded in such a way that it cannot be seen after filling. After the mortar has dried (approx. 14 days depending on weather conditions), external plaster can be applied.

Caution!

When carrying out insulation works using graphite polystyrene boards, the entire facade should be covered with facade grids to avoid board deformations that may be caused by excessive UV radiation.

Temperature of performed work

Air temperature from + 5 ° C to +25 ° C. Substrate temperature from + 5 ° C to +25 ° C. Work in temperature between +5 ° C and +25 ° C. For a period of 7 days after the completion of works, the air temperature should not be below +5 ° C, and for the next 21 days should not fall below 0 ° C.

Expenditure

Bonding of foamed polystyrene boards approx. 4.0-5.0 kg per 1m², Embedding fiberglass mesh: 3.0-4.0 kg per 1m².

Packaging

25 kg paper bags. Pallet: 54 bags x 25 kg = 1350 kg

Storage and transport

The products must be absolutely stored in undamaged packaging and dry rooms on pallets. Protect from moisture, getting wet during storage and transport. The storage period of the product in conditions complying with the recommendations given is up to 12 months from the date of production placed on the packaging in digital print. The date of production, which is placed on the packaging, is also the date of manufacture of the product. Any changes visible in the product or packaging structure without special tests, in particular discoloration or smudging of the packaging graphic, infringements of the packaging continuity, biological changes in the product structure, recognizable in particular as a consequence of moisture, may indicate poor storage or transport conditions and do not guarantee compliance declared performance characteristics of products as specified.

Precautions

The product contains cement which, when mixed with water, gives an alkaline reaction. Take measures to prevent dusting or splashing with the mortar. Do not inhale, protect eyes and skin. In case of contamination: rinse eyes immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice, wash skin with soap and water. Keep out of children's reach. If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show the container or label.
